Elementary Art:
Kindergarten through fifth-grade students have art once a week for 45 minutes. The students are introduced to many artists, mediums, and art movements, as well as a working knowledge of the elements and principles of art.
6th grade meets twice a week for 45 minutes. This class challenges students to think about art in a cultural, professional and practical way as well as introducing students to new artists and time periods.
Middle School Art:
7th grade covers a large portion of art history starting with the renaissance and working towards modern art. Students learn about many different artists and techniques as they study each period in history.
High School Art:
This elective class introduces and reinforces student's drawing techniques, watercolor and acrylic painting, sculpture, color theory, portraiture, and printmaking. It reinforces the elements and principles of design as students learn to critically analyze art. Students will also study different art movements and careers in art.
